The Iowa .NET User Group is getting ready to kick off the 2nd annual program that works with regional non-profit organizations to provide a free website. In preparation, I thought I should do a little research and provide some resources to the courageous developers who are offering their time and skills to make this program a success.
Development Tools
Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2005 Express Edition. Microsoft does offer the expression edition of their tools for FREE. Useful when you’re trying to create a free website for a non-profit site. http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/express/vwd/default.aspx
Firefox Web Developer Extension. I’ve blogged about this must have tool for any web developer.
IE Developer Toolbar. Microsoft has a developer tool bar (currently in beta 3) for Internet Explorer. If you use it and have suggestions, please give the product team some feedback.
DotNetNuke Skinning Resources
This is a great resource to show a developer how to create a skin. I contains a lot of helpful links (so of which I’ve included in this post). http://www.skinningtoolkit.com/
How to Skin Tutorial: http://www.dotnetnukerocks.com/tabid/3167/Default.aspx
Color Palette Tools
These two tools are great for developers (like me) who can’t tell when a color is complementary or insulting(ary). http://www.dnncreative.com/ColorChooserTool/tabid/226/Default.aspx http://www.colorschemer.com/schemes/
Popular DNN Links
Finally, I like to see what others find interesting on del.icio.us
